Kimbo, I agree that a lot of surfing is turning into who does the craziest air and who gets the most air, but it’s simply the progression of the sport. Look at skateboarding when it originated. The first Bones Brigade video was guys doing ollies, shove-its, and little minor stuff. Now look what goes on. A sport can either stay stagnant or it can progress, and surfing has chosen the latter. I’ve been surfing for 18 years and still haven’t landed what would be considered a good air. I’m a bigger dude – 6’3″, 200lbs, but that really doesn’t mean anything. Look at Jordy, dude is my size and kills the airs.
My point is that surfing is going to the next level. A bunch of guys still rip without doing any kind of airs, but airs are becoming the norm, just like a wicked off the top roundhouse used to be. Hop on board and enjoy the ride! (pun intended)

Thanks for the enlightenment Craig . the reality is that this footage could of been shot at any local beach with there local star. his surfing is just not that brilliant or different enough to warrant this exposure .
