Quiksilver has just announced that Port Macquarie’s Matt Banting has been given the wildcard for the Quik Pro Gold Coast, where he will be going head-to-head against Kelly Slater in Round One. Banting is the 2010 Quiksilver King of the Groms Champ, the five-time Rusty Gromfest Champ, and the 2010 Under-16 ISA World Champion, but this will be his first event matched up against top-seed World Tour surfers.
