The cult of BIG wave riding… its spiritual and requires no B.S. from some fake guru. Thanks for showing some paddle in take offs at Jaws. I was thinking that was only two-in country.

This session with Shane Dorian and Ian Walsh is all time, but like to give credit to the other guys as a few of them were making vertical air drops. There are so many all-time big wave riders all over the planet now as far away as Ireland its hard to say if there is a clear leader – but Dorian is clearly in the elite with Laird, Greg Long and all the top XXL, Eddie & Mavericks finalists. Dorian also has some epic videos from Tahiti. Just hope they all stay in one piece.

I remember a statement by Evan Slater after the Maverick’s contest and he said something to degree of, “Dorian’s done leaps more than Laird has.” This session, (absolutely epic video, by the way), solidifies that statement harder than anything we’ve seen. It’s time people start recognizing the achievements of this guy.
SHANE DORIAN IS THE MOST SKILLED AND ACCOMPLISHED BIG WAVE SURFER ON THE PLANET. Laird blew open some doors, but Dorian has knocked those buildings. At ever single venue Laird achieved superstardom, Dorian has gone well above and beyond. This is no dis on LH, but I feel like people under appreciate just how hard Dorian is rushing.
He has single-handidly proved countless surf intellectuals wrong by just how big of waves can be paddled into. A huge congratulations to him and Ian Walsh. Looking forward to seeing more from you guys.
