To win the 2011 SURFER Poll Movie of the Year Award, a film should both reflect the current state of surfing as well as inspire surfers everywhere to push wave-riding forward. The Move of the Year needs to make an indelible mark on surfing as both a sport and a culture.

I didn’t see all the nominated films however I can say this with absolute certainty… based on your criteria “To win the 2011 SURFER Poll Movie of the Year Award, a film should both reflect the current state of surfing as well as inspire surfers everywhere to push wave-riding forward. The Move of the Year needs to make an indelible mark on surfing as both a sport and a culture”- LOST ATLAS SHOULDN’T HAVE EVEN BEEN NOMINATED! It was totally weak and didn’t come close to living up to the hype, IT FAILED TO INSPIRE ME TO EVEN GET IN THE WATER. Sad to say I don’t think I’ve ever said that about any surf flick. The only mark it made on me was I FELT RIPPED OFF after watching it and I WANT MY $30 BUCKS BACK! I don’t think you put any heart in this one Kai and it shows- or doesn’t show as the case may be. Sorry!
