Mick Fanning’s worst year would be considered most surfers’ best. All the same, the two-time World Champ had a less than noteworthy 2011, culminating in withdrawing from the Pipe Masters with a neck injury. Finishing sixth on SURFER Poll is yet another reason for Fanning to come out swinging in 2012.
