My all time surf heroes… So ahead of their time while laying the framework for the next generation of Hawaiian legends. Many thanks.

Awesome to see these guys get their props. Always loved their style in the water and their loose sense of humor/style on land. They changed the way I skated and surfed. This is my 50th year skating and i still slash pools, bowls, & pipes iike I am surfing Queens. Great article.

I’ll never forget my first trip to Hawaii in the summer of ’73, surfing Town with Buttons, Bertleman, Ho, Dane, Vince Klyne, and Mark. It’s good to see Buttons grew as a person as well as a surfer. God bless him and his family.
