The most worldly of the Maui contingent, with a couple years on Dusty Payne and Clay Marzo, Ola Eleogram's spent his recent years marching around the world, both hunting for waves and trying to earn a buck or two doing contests. “Ola is really good natured, a good travel partner,” tells childhood friend Hank Gaskell. “He is still relatively unknown, but I think 2007 will be a really good year for him.” He's caught some attention with his moves above the lip, and isn't shy about putting some power into his hooks in the pocket, but more than anything, Eleogram made his name in the tube. Like Gaskell, it's only a matter of time before he makes a move that catches the world's collective eye.
