Surfing America Summer Surf Jam Festival A Huge Success

San Juan Capistrano, Calif. – July 17, 2009 – The first ever Surfing America Summer Surf Jam Festival attracted huge crowds last Sunday, June 12, at the Verizon Wireless Ampitheater in Irvine, CA.

Summer Surf Jam joined forces with the 311 Unity Tour for an unforgettable evening of fundraising and fun brought by over 24 action sports industry brands and media. Brands and media in attendance included Billabong, O’Neill, Quiksilver, Rip Curl, New Era, Surfer Mag, Surfing Mag, Surfline.com, Transworld, Fuel TV, and many more. In addition to 311, the concert event also included Ziggy Marley and The Expendables.

Summer Surf Jam participants brought creativity to Verizon Wireless’ well traveled stomping grounds, creating a festival atmosphere within a major concert event-a unique and effective format that Surfing America and the PacSun USA Surf Team can call their own. Nalu’s Island Grill and Coors Light provided food and drink at the VIP Pre-Party-and through their efforts, every booth sponsor contributed to boosting the PacSun USA Surf Team toward reaching their goals for 2010.

The evening was a huge success, with over 9,000 attendees walking away with warm feelings, an arm full of swag, and a head full of memories!
