Surfindian Opening Reception for Susan Wickstrand and Kevin Roche “The Wild Ones” Art Show Saturday, June 11, 7-10 pm @ Surfindian

On Saturday evening, June 11, from 7-10 pm, Surfindian will proudly host the opening reception for the Susan Wickstrand and Kevin Roche “The Wild Ones” art show.  The show will feature new photography from Kevin, and new collaborative oil and encaustic collages from Susan, including collaborations with famed surf photographers Art Brewer, Tom Servais and Todd Glaser.  A highlight of the evening will be the debut of a new Surfindian t-shirt featuring Susan’s art, and there will be lots of other surprises to make for a special night.  Check out the images below for a sample of the art that was created especially for this show.

The June 11 opening reception will also feature a live performance from famed jazz duo, The Mattson 2.  You may remember The Mattson 2 from some of our prior shows, as they are always a huge hit with the crowd.  Whether you’ve heard them before or are new to their hipster brand of jazz, you don’t want to miss this performance.

The June 11 opening reception will also include live DJ tunes, food from our friends at Dirty Birds, and light refreshments.  Best of all, like all of our shows, it is open to the public and there is absolutely no charge to attend.  Just come on down and have fun.

Once again:  the opening reception for the Susan Wickstrand and Kevin Roche art show “The Wild Ones” will take place at Surfindian this Saturday evening, June 11, starting at 7:00 pm.  Please join us for this special event, and help support the SoCal surf and art scene.

It’s been a true joy working with the Masters of Surf Photography, Art Brewer & Tom Servais and the very professional, talented and young Todd Glaser. I guess since I can’t hold a tune this will be the closest I’ll ever get to a musical duet with some very talented individuals. Thank you for the fun collaborative ride and for the trust placed in me with already wonderful images of some ridiculously talented surfers. It’s been a blast & I’ve been counting my lucky stars. Hope to see you at the show on Sat. ~ Susan Wickstrand
