Rusty Announces Wired Series

Irvine, CA (January 7, 2010) — Rusty North America (www.rusty.com) is kicking off the New Year with the Wired Series by Rusty featuring HB3 Technology, a collection of hooded fleece and jackets for men and women with built-in machine washable headphones. A pioneer in surfboard technology and leading surf lifestyle brand for over 25 years, Rusty continues to push the envelope of innovation and design with the Wired Series. Debuting with six on-trend styles, the collection will be available exclusively at select surf shops and specialty stores nationwide starting in June, with retail prices ranging from $49.50 to $74.50.

“Music is a huge part of our culture and kids are connected to it all the time,” said Charlie Setzler, President of Rusty North America. “Just drive by any high school – you’ll see most kids hanging out with some sort of headphones on, listening to music. What do kids do before they surf? They listen to music. What do they do when they’re done surfing? They eat, and then listen to music.”

Highlights from the Men’s collection include Wired, a traditional zip front hooded fleece in a variety of colors with simple logo detail; Stealth, a mid-weight military-inspired style with ribbed collars and shoulder tabs; and Live Wire, a jacket-inspired zip fleece with quilted interior lining. Junior styles include Glam Rock, a high fashion take on the classic zip fleece with stud detailing; Rock Out, a peacoat jacket style; and Set it Straight, with contrast headphone drawstrings, zipper placket and hood lining.
All pieces feature machine washable earbuds with Rusty’s signature R-dot logo and are compatible with most mp3 players and mobile phone devices.

“We are committed to providing a point of difference in the marketplace and delivering products that fit our lifestyle,” Setzler continued. “In the Boardshort category, Rusty came out with an amazing recycled stretch fabric called Ecostretch; and now, we’re setting ourselves apart again in Fleece with the Wired Series with HB3 Technology. Merging built-in machine washable headphones with great product makes it easy to listen to music regardless of what you’re doing or where you’re going.”
