Rip Curl Surf And Music Festival 2009

For the 3rd consecutive year International surfing brand Rip Curl will play host to the biggest live music show and the best Surfing Indonesia has to offer when the Rip Curl Surf and Music Festival rolls back into town on 24th & 25th October 2009.

Be a witness to the awesome show situated in the heart of Bali at Halfway beach, Kuta on the last weekend of October. For starters, the National finals of Rip Curl’s worldwide youth surfing series – the Rip Curl GromSearch are going to take place with the winner receiving a ticket for the international finals at Bells Beach, Australia in 2010. Furthermore a 5-star ISC Open surfing competition, including both women and master division will be held, offering 3000 points towards the final Indonesian Surfing Circuit (ISC) surfing tour and prize money of 36.400.000 Rupiah.

After watching the day’s action in the water all eyes will then shift to the main stage where great music will round off the evening. Bandung’s best known Rock’n'Roll band The S.I.G.I.T. will rock the stage, supported by other Indonesian bands – Scared of Bums, Psycho Fun, Painful by Kisses and Gecko.

Indonesia’s first ever Rip Curl Surf and Music Festival in 2007 claimed huge success counting 3000 surf and music fans visiting the beach to watch the show. Last year the number of spectators doubled, to over 6000, which underlines the popularity of this event. Expectations for this year are running high with Rip Curl’s event crew making huge efforts to make this year’s show even more memorable than ever.

The Rip Curl Surf and Music Festival is not only held in Bali, but also in other famous surf spots around the globe such as Bells Beach (Australia), Hossegor (France) and Zarautz (Spain), which makes it a truly international event.
