Leading Teams Prevail at 4th Race in YOLO Paddleboard Race Series

Only one race remains to determine the final champions in the 2009 series

Santa Rosa Beach, Fla. (July 27, 2009) – YOLO Board LLC announces the results of the fourth 2009 YOLO Board Stand Up Paddle Series Race event on July 23rd at the Boathouse in WaterColor. The top teams in both the women’s and the men’s divisions have remained consistent throughout the series with On the Coast Magazine taking first in the Women’s Division and South Walton Lifeguards Black winning the Men’s Division. On the Coast Magazine consists of members Nancy Babin, Julie Ogle, Debbie Hunter, and Jackie Vreuls. Sean Hughes, Joe Serrato, Andy Scheid and Justin Cook make up the South Walton Lifeguards Black team.

A cool breeze off of Western Lake helped keep all the spectators happy along with complimentary refreshments provided by sponsor Vitamin Water. In the Men’s Division, The Wells Fargo Advisors team burst into the top three spot for the first time of the series, finishing second. The South Walton Lifeguards took third. Team Unbalanced also had a season high finish in the Women’s Division taking second place, followed by the Balance Health Studio ladies in third. A magnificent sunset marked the end of the evening events, which were emceed by the always-entertaining Mike Sturdivant of BlueMountainSurf.com

“This year’s race series has surpassed our expectations with the level of competition and the involvement of the community,” said Jeff Archer, co-founder of YOLO Board. “The fourth race was no exception, with new teams making their presence known in the top three and a great local turnout showing up to support the racers. The fifth race will be bittersweet, it has been such a great series and we’re always a little reluctant to see it end.”

The final race event is scheduled for Thursday August 13th (weather permitting), and the location is yet to be announced. The champion title “YOLO Board Cup Series” will be awarded to the overall winners in both divisions after the final race. Stay tuned to www.yoloboard.com for the latest details on the final race.
