Hawaiian Phenom Ezekiel Lau Joins Arnette Surf Squad

FOOTHILL RANCH, Calif.; February 15, 2011 – Arnette is proud to announce that hard-charging Hawaiian Ezekiel Lau (aka, Zeke) has joined the family as its newest team rider.

Born and raised in Hawaii, Zeke lives with his family in Honolulu where you can usually find him ripping at Kewalos with his friends. Known for his unique blend of speed, power and creativity, 2009 was a banner year for the 17 year-old as he was named the National Scholastic Surfing Association’s (NSSA) Open Junior’s Champion, and Quiksilver King of the Groms Hawaii Champion. Plus, in July 2010 Zeke won the High School Varsity Men’s Division at the NSSA Nationals in Huntington Beach.

Standing at a solid 6 feet tall, the innovative regular-footer has a style all his own both in and out of the water. Zeke is a gifted athlete with a captivating personality and good head on his shoulders. His passion and determination are unmatched, and he is steadily growing into a serious force to be reckoned with in competitive surfing.

“We are very excited to have Zeke on the program as he truly is the future of surfing,” says Arnette Team and Events Manager Brent Bearden. “Zeke has a fun yet humble personality and he lets his surfing do the talking. He is a great addition to Arnette!”

As Zeke puts it, “It feels great to be on the team and I’m psyched to be representing Arnette.”

In addition to Arnette, Zeke also surfs for Volcom, Nixon, Body Glove, DaKine, and Fitted Hawaii.
