Behind the Numbers: Failed to get past the fourth round in ’06, after reaching it five times, yet still managed to claw his way higher three slots. Wills is preparing for his 10th year on tour.

Heading into 2007: Wills is sitting right where he belongs. While he’s probably the least known of the tour regulars, he’s earned a ton of respect among his peers for his no-nonsense surfing. There’s not a lot of X-factor here, so staying put will require more work than ever, but, like his surfing style, Wills doesn’t dick around. He’ll continue to punish those who make mistakes.
