Ventura Film Festival- Day 7

| posted on July 06, 2009

The 2009 Ventura Film Festival is over.

Today at the Majestic Ventura Theater was absolutely incredible. We were visited by two all time surfing greats, Ian Cairns and Peter “PT” Townend, who gave a question & answer session and signed autographs after the screening of “Bustin’ Down the Door.” They also discussed the importance of environmental activism and participation so that we leave a rich and beautiful world for our children and their children.

We also had a good crowd and Q&A for “From River to Sea”, “The Women and the Waves”, and “LIVE: A MUSIC AND SURFING EXPERIENCE.” We finished the night with “WITHOUT”, “String of the Kite”, and “Playing For Change.”

Then we headed for the Goodbar for the Ventura Film Festival wrap party with a live concert from “We Govern We” with an opening act by Donald Stewart aka “Don Blueberry” who was featured in the film “Hardworking Man”. Pizza and cheesecake for the Ventura Film Festival wrap party was provided by “Sicily by Gino.”

Everything about this festival was just great, but the best part is the bonds, fun, and friendship that was built between the volunteers, sponsors, and festival goers. Something special happened and we all felt it. Let’s make 2010 even better!

Planning for the Ventura Film Festival 2010 starts now!
