And Timmy entertained the crowd with a string of tracks off his recently released album, while the late-show crowd stealthily consumed beers in paper bags, anxiously awaiting the surfboard giveaway and the ode-to-California flick. The travel-by-train tale, which winds through the faces and places of the left coast, sent the audience into sporadic eruptions of applause as the Amtrak sped through their respective hometowns. The film’s narrative, as well as the evening’s debauchery, concluded conveniently right down the road in San Diego.
