SURFER POLL WEB CLIP AND DIGITAL SHORT NOMINATIONS
SURFER Magazine is now accepting nominees for two SURFER Poll Web Categories: Web Clips of the Year and Digital Short of the Year.
Web Clip of the Year
A brief video clip posted on a website or blog. Examples: 2009 Web Clip Nominees
Digital Short of the Year (New Award for 2010)
A single-topic film less than 20 minutes in length published online.

To nominate, please send the link to the web clip or short, as well as the name of the filmmaker/produced to janna@surfermag.com with “SURFER Poll Nominee” in the subject line.
Clips and shorts must have been posted online in the past year.

I went to elementary school with Tommy Curran in SB, High School with Laird on Kauai…and watched the late Andy Irons learn to surf at the Hanalei Peir with Phil. Titus Kinimaka, Byron Wong, Max Mederos, Kaipo Jaquias, Chava Greenly and Dick Brewer all were in pages of my life surfing. I surfed G-land in 1980 and was surfing in New Guinea the same year. I was blessed to learn to surf at Rincon and move to Kauai to “own” Polihale from 1979 to 1985. Surfing is my life. After an unprecedented year of highs and lows in the surfer world…THIS VIDEO WAS THE ONE THAT SOMEHOW MADE ME FEEL THE SIMPLICITY OF IT ALL, LEAST WE NOT FORGET. THE SIZZLE OF SURFING. IT IS NICE TO LAUGH AND FEEL THAT FIRST RUSH AGAIN. THIS GUY IS HIGH ON SURF!!!!! GOD BLESS THE IRONS FAMILY AND ESPECIALLY LYNDIE’s BABY-IRONS.
