SURFER POLL COMES TO HAWAII
With less than a week until the 2010 Surfer Poll Awards at the Turtle Bay Hilton, SURFER’s staff is tying up loose ends and heading to “The Rock” for the big show. Coming on the back of one of the momentous months in the history of surfing that saw the passing of three-time World Champ and former Surfer Poll #1 Andy Irons, and witnessed an emotional Kelly Slater win his groundbreaking 10th world title, we expect Surfer Poll to be a night of celebration and remembrance.
“When we decided to move Surfer Poll to Hawaii back in the spring, we obviously had no idea what an incredible creshendo 2010 would end in,” says Surfer Poll Director and SURFER Editor at Large Joel Patterson. “Because of everything that’s happened in the past month, we’re feeling the pressure to give readers, viewers, and attendees a really memorable night. We’ve put in some late nights in the past few weeks, and I feel confident that Monday is going to be special.”
You can watch the show live on December 6th at SurferPoll.com starting at 7 p.m. in Hawaii, 9 p.m. on the West Coast, and midnight on the East Coast.
