San Diego Sewage Spill No April Fools Joke
On April Fools day, uhh…pardon the expression, but… shit happens – literally.

On April 1st a sewer main break in Carlsbad dumped over four million gallons of sewage into the Buena Vista lagoon according to the County of San Diego. The spill was discovered at a pump station near Hwy 78 and Jefferson Ave., but unfotunately this is no April Fools joke. Signs have been posted on beaches from Beech Ave up to Cassidy street in Oceanside and at access points near the lagoon.
The county will continue to monitor the water quality and the warning signs will remain up until water samples confirm that the water is safe for surfing, swimming and other recreation.
For more information on the sewage spill, please call the City of Carlsbad Municipal Water District at 760-434-2957.
