Mission Completed! Surfrider Beach Cleanup Sponsored by Bolsa Clothing

Barbara Bosch of The Surfrider Foundation, Bolsa Clothing and hundreds of volunteers came down to Bolsa Chica State Beach this past weekend for what turned out to be a rewarding, beautiful and sunny day. At head high and glassy, the waves weren’t bad either.

The event was very successful with tons of trash being picked up and by the time it was over the beach was looking amazing.

Mike Butler and Bolsa Clothing were on hand and gave out free T’s to the first 50 volunteers. The shirts, like many Bolsa products, were made with the help of local artists.

Mike said, “Surfrider is an amazing organization that has done so much for me and everyone that enjoys the beach. I’m humbled by the support of the volunteers and the chance to give back to the community. Thank you so much for everyone that pitched in”.

“Though this beach looked clean from a distance, it wasn’t. You can find thousands of pieces plastic and metal trash all over the sand. Its a great thing that the Surfrider Foundation does by holding these monthly beach clean ups. Little by little we will educated the people and clean up the beach at the same time”.
Seth Matson – Surfrider Foundation – Beach Clean-ups/Volunteer

We had a whopping 312 people show up. Surfrider is planning on having at least 1 beach clean up per month down at Huntington street starting in Feb.
People should check http://hsbsurfrider.org for updates on beach clean ups.

Thanks Bolsa and SurfRider. The clean up was great and I’ve never seen Bolsa Chica so clean.

Mike thanks for the cool tees! Gotta love the Bolsa Style.

Good times!

Marc
