Previously in denial about his photographic past, Rob Gilley now rummages through his trove of mediocrity.
While recently skimming through my photo files, I came across a smattering of animal surfing photos. Dolphins, seals, dogs, and the like. I thought it might be worthwhile to put together a blog gallery of non-human surfing shots.
But then I remembered the toxic state of online comment boards, and realized I would probably get called out for offering gratuitously cute subject matter, or serving clichés on a platter, or something like that. I can see the responses already,
“Ooohh, look at the pretty dolphins, Mommy!”
But then I came across the sequence below, and I knew I had it. An unpublished, less-predictable visual narrative. A non-Hollywood ending for the cliché police.
Evidence that not every dog has his day.
