Dane Reynolds' "First Chapter" Proves To Be Enticing

Quiksilver’s new film “Dane Reynold’s First Chapter” premiered Friday night to a massive crowd at Quiksilver’s headquarters in Huntington Beach. The Hinano’s flowed like wine, and In’N'Out Burger satiated the hungry crowd who filtered in by the hundreds to witness the spectacle. Rock-star sized monitors blasted the film to the outdoor arena as Quiksilver’s skate team ripped their all new skate bowl, and hordes of stoked groms took in the whole scene.

The film itself was a testament to Dane Reynolds’ status as one of the top surfers in the world today. From threading heavy Hawaiian tubes, to racing South African sections, to busting enormous airs in Indo it is obvious that Dane Reynolds creates excitement onscreen. Interspersed with interviews, and action from other red-hot team riders, the film illustrates the increasingly pushed envelope for aerial surfing, and gives a sneak peak at the future of progressive maneuvers.

Ubiquitous emcee Sal Masakela kept the audience entertained, while Dane, who put in nearly a year of work on the film, humbly offered his appreciation for the night.

“Thanks everyone for coming and supporting this film. It’s been a great experience making it, we’ve been working hard and it’s cool to see the effort pay off.”

Dane, poised to attack the WQS and continue to blow minds in the free-surfing arena appeared relaxed and excited, certainly pleased by the enormous turnout and success of the night.

The event capped off with a special live performance by Sparta, and was a perfect showcase for the high performance, high energy film.
