Bruna Schmitz in Sports Illustrated
The Brazilian ripper to appear on the pages of the SI Swimsuit Issue
Though Bruna Schmitz finished 2010 ranked 15th on the ASP Women’s World Tour, she’s rated much higher in eyes of the Sports Illustrated staff, as she’s just been awarded a coveted spot as one of the ladies of the 2011 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. The photo shoot, which takes place in Canada, features images of Bruna sensually fly-fishing. Although the premise for the shoot is rather original, the mainstream’s interest in sun-kissed and scantily clad female surfers is anything but new. Back in 2009, Rolling Stone ran a small feature on Alana Blanchard titled “The Blue Crush,” and Anastasia Ashley made an appearance in FHM before that. Claire Bevilacqua was also seen in the 2009 ESPN Magazine Body Issue. You can see the images from Bruna’s Northern wilderness shoot in the 2011 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, or watch the video below.
