SHOPS TO WATCH
Central/Northwest

Revolution: Ventura’s Revolution won the whole show in 2004, but in 2005, courtesy of Katin, they fell short of the National finals by a hair. After losing in the Central/Northwest qualifier by less than a point, they came back in 2006 with something to prove, and in a closely fought final, Revolution reclaimed the Central/Northwest crown. Then, led by Jesse Mota, Nick Rosza, John Villela, and Nathaniel Curran, they then went on to the national stage, looking to repeat on their victory in 2004. But, last year, it wasn’t to be, and they were forced to settle for second. But after coming so close to reclaiming the crown, 2007 could be Revolution’s year to get it back. But with the likes of Katin, ET Surfboards and Channel Islands nipping at their heels, they need to focus on the regional level first.

Katin Surf Shop: Constantly battling with Revolution, among many, Katin’s been a perennial regional finalist in a very competitive division. Katin will enter 2007 still smarting from a fourth place finish last year, and with something to prove, they may just be able to take the Central/Northwest crown and keep on moving.

ET Surfboards: Nobody saw this squad coming last year and it worked to their advantage. But with a runner up regional finish last year, the ET team can no longer fly under the radar. In 2007, they’ll have to perform with a target on their back if they want a shot at making the national finals.
