Quiksilver Wins Big Twice at SIMA Awards

Quiksilver Claims Men’s Marketing Campaign of the Year and Hardgoods Accessory Product of the Year at SIMA Image Awards

February 2012- Quiksilver was excited andhonored to take home two big wins at the 2011 SIMA Image Awards at the Grove Theater in Anaheim, California last week. Quiksilver won the prestigious award for Men’s Marketing Campaign of the Year for Kelly Slater’s 10th world title, and Hardgoods Accessory Product of the Year for the Cypher PS+Heat Vest System.

The first award, which aims to recognize the marketing campaign that featured “creative, cohesive and consistent brand message in print, digital and point-of-purchase materials,” was a true testament to the entire Quiksilver marketing and sales teams who devoted countless hours into the design, development, and immediate execution and distribution of collateral for the KS10 marketing campaign for Kelly Slater’s 10th World Title Victory.

Quiksilver’s second win of the evening, for Hardgoods Accessory Product of the Year focused on identifying the product with “the most exciting innovation, design or appeal” from 2011. Quiksilver’s Cypher PS+Heat Vest System definitely metthat high standard with its revolutionary FAR infra-red heat technology.

“We are really stoked to have the Cypher Heat vest recognized with a SIMA Image Award,” says Jason Shelton, Quiksilver VP Sales, Wetsuits and Accessories. “Hearing from our riders, retailers and everyday surfers in the water say that the Heat Vest has made surfing in cold water a non-issue, keeps our wetsuit development team fired up to continue innovating. Jim Vaughn of Whalebone Surf Shop recently called it a ‘game-changer’ and that’s the best compliment we can receive”.

Quiksilver would like to thank and recognize all of the valued retail partners nationally who have contributed to the success of the KS10 campaign and the Cypher PS+Heat Vest System, as well as our world-class roster of athletes who have played a major role in the development process.
