Quiksilver Open Keramas – Ready to Rock!

The final event of the ISC 2009 calendar is set and ready to roll at the famous surf break Keramas in Gianyar Bali. The 6 star prime event will crown the 2009 ISC Champion with 3500 points up for grabs for the winner.

Lee Wilson has been the front-runner for most of the 2009 season, and if he wants to win the Coca-Cola ISC Open Championship its now or never. He has to post a win at this the last event of the year, as Garut Widiarta has just jumped into first place and leads by just under 900 points. Also very close behind Lee (288 points) is Dedi Santoso and Raditya Rondi (363), so its going to be a historic showdown at arguably Bali’s most consistant and high performance contest venues.

So what does Lee Wilson have to say about all this? I know its close going into this event but if I could pick a spot for this to all go down it would be Keramas. . I just need to hold my composure and do what I do, Keramas is such a high performance wave that suits the way a like to surf my heats. Its a place where you can come back from being combod in the space of only a few minutes because the wave is so good.

The event is set to start this Friday the 30th of October bright and early with a small push in the swell and favourable tides in the forecast to kick off the event.

Ex pro surfer, Quiksilver Sports Marketing Manager and Contest Director Jake “The Snake” Paterson reported, “We have put a lot of effort into this event to make sure the end of the tour goes off with a bang. All we need now is some swell and its all going to go down!! There are a bunch of guys that can still win the ISC title so its going to be super exciting to see who will come out on top,” Paterson exclaimed.

Quiksilver has also flown up the international acclaimed AC DC tribute band ACCA DACCA for a pre-party at the Hard Rock Caf in Jakarta on Thursday the 5th of November, and also for the after-party at the Hard Rock Caf in Bali on Saturday the 7th of November, starting at 11pm. Dont miss it !

The Awards ceremony, event highlights, and the finals of the Roxy Short Short contest will take place at the Hard Rock Hotel Center*Stage Saturday 8pm right before ACCA DACCA take the stage at the Hard Rock Caf .
See you there !
