Hurley Pro Trestles Off Again Today, Possible Start Tomorrow

LOWER TRESTLES, California (Thursday, September 17, 2009) – The Hurley Pro Trestles, Event No. 6 of 10 on the 2009 ASP World Tour, has been called off today, with inconsistent two-to-three foot (1 metre) surf on offer this morning.
Five days into the waiting period, the Hurley Pro Trestles has already enjoyed a solid three of competition, and with one full day of competition remaining, event organizers are looking to finish in the best conditions possible.
“We’re off today but I’m really hoping to see an increase in swell tomorrow,” Pat O’Connell, Hurley Pro Contest Director, said. “We have one full day of competition remaining with Round 4 through the Finals, but I’m hoping to run Round 4 tomorrow and the Quarters through the Finals on Saturday.”
Surfline, official forecaster of the Hurley Pro Trestles, is calling for some southwest energy to fill in throughout the next couple of days.
When the event recommences, up first will be former event winner Bede Durbdige (AUS), 26, up against compatriot Kai Otton (AUS), 29.
