When you were a kid, tearing out pages from SURFER (and all your other favorite action sports magazines) was about as close to interior design as you got. Hell, your old room at mom and dad’s probably still has tattered-edged images of Tom Curren flying down the line at J-Bay. Or maybe you were more of an Andy Irons kind of guy. Regardless, those images fulfilled the plight of all surfers: the subconscious desire to mind surf. Well, you’re a grown up now and that requires grown up decorations (or at least your girlfriend/wife does).

Started by Floris Gierman and Eugene Lai, the Aika Collective allows you to buy your favorite photo prints from a variety of photographers, including SURFER Staff Chris Burkard, Grant Ellis, and Zak Noyle. Each print is available in six sizes ranging from 8″ x 10″ to 30″ x 40″ and will fill that empty space on your wall perfectly.

Ditch the cheesy Ikea posters and dive into the surf collection.

Zak Noyle's backwash masterpiece would look amazing in your living room.

Warm-water perfection not your thing? Chris Burkard has you covered.

      $500 for a print..rip off!

      • Zandbar

Not that I would pay $500 for it, but why is it a rip off? Art collectors pay WAY more for photo’s than $500 and the dude who took the shot spent WAY more than $500 on his equipment, gas, and advil… come on dude, if you don’t want it that is one thing but never call an original print from the actual photographer a rip off…

Sounds reasonable for a print of that size and quality. I work in the skateboarding industry and I know how much time and works goes into capturing moments like these, so you’re not just paying for the print, but the actual time and effort that went into this. Have you ever been to a photo show? People will charge double – triple this for the same size photos or smaller. I already bought one and stoked on it!

Hi guys, Flo from Aika Collective here. Thanks for posting this up, we appreciate it!

Just a heads up that most prints are available in 6 sizes, starting at $25. The $500 is for our massive 30” x 40” print. Cheers!

I think What Zanbar and Jason are saying is that, how do you hold value to these prints not that they are sold online and anyone can buy them…If it was Andys favorite photo then Grant must of gave one to him and others already…So it is not going to be original. So how do you make the buyers coming from Surfermag.com and other online sites feel that they are getting something of value from the photographer and not from a freshly new group of guys who used to work at Volcom sourcing a collective of photographs to help make a buck.

I think if you set a the price at $50 for any size you will do ok…
