Volcom Stones Starfish Surf Series HB Pier, HB
The day was finally here and the with 160 competitors on the beach frothing from their upper lips to sign up, it was time to kick off another beautiful year of the Totally Crustaceous Tour. The Starfish Surf Series was the first event ever for the VQS so it is only appropriate to kick off the season with it. This year would prove to be one of the best of all time.

With shredding going on in the water and shenanigans going on all day long on the beach, the energy was at an all time high. This year’s season brought the addition of the 10 & under Squids Division. These little dudes were so excited to have their own division and show of their skills in front of a packed beach of spectators. Huge props go out to little Kade Matson who wrapped his board around the pier piling. Standouts for the day in the Girls Division was Jenna Balester who took out Sarah Taylor in the final for the win. Taylor Clark took out the pack in the Groms Division and snagged a heap of prizes and Custom BMX bike. Taking the Muscle Milk $250 Juniors first place prize was Ian Crane and winning the Electric Volt Thrower award and the Pro-Am final was Ryan Carlson who walked away with $550 and grip of goodies! Congrats to all the Starfish winners!
