California Surf Museum’s 3rd Annual Gala and Grand Celebration of “WOW: Women On Waves”
In our world of many family obligations, business commitments, and social gatherings, we often forget to stop and make the time to give back to something that will be here long after we are gone, something that preserves a part of our lifestyle and culture that can be enjoyed for future generations. The Board and staff of the California Surf Museum invite you to spend an evening celebrating our new exhibit “WOW: Women On Waves” and help us continue our efforts to preserve our surfing heritage by attending one of our main fundraising events. The evening will be filled with music, delicious food and drinks, live and silent auction opportunities and a rare opportunity to personally meet and honor many of the women who led the way in the early days, to those who have raised the bar today. It’s an exclusive chance for you to spend an evening with friends and give back to a worthy cause. Tickets are now on sale.
Attend the Gala and receive an evening of music, delicious food, drinks, silent and live auction opportunities, and a chance to meet some of the most influential women surfers.

“WOW: Women On Waves”
A History of Women in Surfing
WOW Mary Ann Hawkins The California Surf Museum is proud to announce the March opening of its newest exhibit “WOW:Women On Waves” The new Exhibit showcases a history of women in surfing-performance, beach fashion and feminine mystique in the world of surfing. The exhibit features influential women surfers, cultural movements, a variety of important surfboards and surf fashion trends that changed the lifestyle sport forever. Many of these women had to overcome using heavy, unwieldy boards and uncomfortable bathing attire in order to pursue the sport they loved so much.
From ancient Hawaiian princesses to today’s ASP World Champions, “WOW:Women On Waves” gives an historical glimpse inside the female surfing experience.
The California Surf Museum thanks Roxy for the generous grant that helped fund the exhibit, as well as a support from Kona Brewing Co. and Luna Bar, to make this exhibit possible.
