San Clemente, CA (October 6, 2011) - SURFER, the industry-leading surf publication, has been nominated in two categories at the upcoming FOLIO Awards. The Folio awards, the largest magazine awards show in publishing, is divided into two categories: The Eddies, which recognize editorial excellence and The Ozzies, which recognize excellence in design.

SURFER’s February 2011 issue was nominated for a Best Full Issue (editorial) Award in the consumer sports category. The commemorative issue covered the tumultuous rivalry between 10-time World Champion Kelly Slater and three-time World Champion Andy Irons, who passed away in the same week that Slater won his 10th World Title.

Surfermag.com was nominated for an OZZIE Award in the category of Best Site Design. The website, which receives over 3.3 million page impressions monthly, was redesigned in late 2010 and has since strengthened its position as an industry leader. Featuring breathtaking imagery, diverse editorial, blogs, surf forecasts, a heavily trafficked forum, and original, exclusive video content, Surfermag.com has changed the way surf fans experience digital media.
