CARLSBAD, Calif.—SPY® was Happy to Help raise funds over the past week for the victims of Super Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines by donating $30 from every sunglass sale on www.spyoptic.com to Waves For Water. The funds will support their efforts to provide access to clean water for the victims and families of those affected by the devastating natural disaster.
￼￼￼One of the strongest storms recorded on the planet, Super Typhoon Haiyan plowed across the Philippines with powerful winds hitting the province of Eastern Visayas first. With sustained winds of 195 mph and gusts as strong as 235 mph, Haiyan was the second-‐deadliest typhoon to hit the Philippines in recorded history. Although they do not know the extent of the damage, the storm is estimated to have killed as many as 4,000 people with over 550,000 left homeless.
