SACRED CRAFT Surf Expo Announces Schedule

| posted on September 29, 2009

Two days of surf culture at Del Mar Fairgrounds includes live shaping, live glassing, a surfboard ‘antique roadshow’, seminars, live music, art, autographs, book signings & exhibits

Del Mar, Ca. (SEPTEMBER 30, 2009) – Anticipation is running high for the 3rd Annual Sacred Craft Consumer Surf Expo. Hundreds of the world’s greatest shapers and surfboard designers will converge at the cultural melting point that is the Sacred Craft Surf Expo on October 10th & 11th.

Each and every year the Sacred Craft Expo features a tribute to a master surfboard craftsman in the form of a shape-off competition. This year five shapers: Pat Rawson, Gary Linden, Dennis Murphy, Ricky Carroll, and Reno Abellira (all legends in their own right), will replicate a classic Dick Brewer design. The Brewer design chosen epitomizes the radical changes that took place during the shortboard revolution and the masterwork of the man many consider the most influential shaper ever — Richard Brewer.

Fish, Thruster, Funboard, Longboard or SUP, your goal will be different as to what you want to get out of the wave you are riding. About SACRED CRAFT
We at the SACRED CRAFT CONSUMER SURF EXPO feel it is time to put the surfboard-and the modern-day kahunas who craft & design them–back at the forefront of surf culture. To place that influence, that importance, that responsibility, back in the hands of the artisans who create our sacred crafts-and ultimately our future.

We put the ‘board’ in boardshorts.
