MSA Beach Cleanup at Surfrider Beach

| posted on March 30, 2010

For the third consecutive year, the Malibu Surfing Association (MSA) has adopted Surfrider Beach as part of the state’s ‘Adopt-A-Beach’ program. The MSA has committed to 3 beach cleanups at Surfrider Beach for 2010 with the goal of collecting 1,000 lbs. of trash. We’ll focus on: the beach areas between Lifeguard Towers 1 (Malibu Pier) and 2 (Adamson House), along the Adamson House Wall, and the Surfrider Beach parking lot.

In addition to the cleanup, we’ll be partnering with LA County Department of Beaches and Harbors on selected beach maintenance projects, including: re-painting the PCH stairway, pulling weeds in the parking lot landscaped areas, graffiti removal, and more projects added soon.

This is a volunteer opportunity for everyone in the community. All are invited and supplies will be provided. For students, this is a great opportunity for community service credit. We hope you’ll join us on the 22nd!
