Dragon Alliance Congratulates Mick Fanning on Second World Title

Wearing his favorite pair of Polarized Calaca sunnies, Mick Fanning has once again been crowned World Champion after clinching the title at the Bonzai Pipeline, the final stop of the 2009 ASP World Tour.
This season will go down in history as one of the most dramatic, with Fanning’s good friend Parko coming out strong in the early half winning three out of the first five events and Mick answering back at Trestles with two consecutive wins followed by another at the Rip Curl Pro Search.

“I’m just a bit overwhelmed right now and I don’t quite know what to say,” Fanning said. “This title is way more fun, I was much more relaxed for this one – besides the last few days, I was really nervous.”
To say the least, the entire Dragon family is extremely stoked! Mick’s been surfing for Dragon for over 15 years since he was little grom. To see him evolve into the champion that he his today is honorable to have such an amazing surfer to have been part of our family since the beginning.

In response to Mick’s 2X World Title achievement, Dragon will be releasing a first ever Mick Fanning signature sunglass frame. Built specifically around Mick’s world tour lifestyle and premium performance, the sunglass will be releasing globally Fall 2010.
