Lay Day for ASP 4-Star Coastal Edge presents Vans Pro and Vans Pro Junior
VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia / USA (Monday, August 22, 2011) – The opening day of the ASP 4-Star Coastal Edge presents Vans Pro and Vans Pro Junior has been called off with only inconsistent one-foot waves on offer at 1st Street Jetty in Virginia Beach.
The ASP 4-Star men’s and ASP Pro Junior event boasts a seven-day waiting period allowing event organizers to capitalize on optimal conditions to run the event.
“We would have liked to get a few heats done today, but the surf is too small and inconsistent to commence competition,” Bill Sietz, Coastal Edge Vans Pro Head Judge said. “We’ve got a healthy waiting period for this event and will return tomorrow for a 7:30am call and will hopefully get things underway.”
The Coastal Edge presents Vans Pro and Vans Pro Junior offers healthy points for surfers looking to build their ASP World Ranking while the ASP Pro Junior event represents the final stop on the regional series, marking a crucial event for surfers looking to solidify their positions on the elite ASP World Junior Tour.
The Coastal Edge ECSC presents Vans Pro and Vans Pro Junior brought to you by Rockstar and Skullcandy holds a waiting period from August 22 through 28 and will be webcast LIVE via – www.vans.com/vanspro
