Day Five of O’Neill Cold Water Classic California

Rounds 3 & 4 belonged to the youth, as surfing’s next generation of talent rose above tour veterans to claim victory. Demonstrating flawless fronthand surfing, 16 year-old Kolohe Andino beat former World Tour surfers Cory Lopez and Nate Yeomans in rainy Steamers Lane. Current No. 2 Jordy Smith bowed out of competition, after suffering an unfortunate ankle sprain playing dodgeball at a local nonprofit Thursday night. With an increase in swell, competition is set to resume tomorrow morning at 8:00 am. For heat results and tomorrow’s schedule, click here.
