Treat each surfer that I make a board for as a one-of-a-kind, unique, important person. Listen to people and make them what will take their surfing to the next level. Ultimately, I do all my work to the best of my ability to please God. After all, it's not about me and my image, it's about being a blessing to others. Be courageous, don't look too hard at what everybody else is doing, but instead imagine where surfing can go.
The Monsta for performance and versatility in small waves, the new Mendia for elegant power surfing that lets you get the tail out when hucking chunks. The Greased Pig II that my pastor and friend Britt Merrick collaborated on-it's a speeder bike especialmente. The soon-to-be released Supertyphoon, brought about supernaturally from feedback with Nick Rozsa. And my personal favorite at the moment, the Scarecrow-the fastest high-performance trim speed board ever.
My wife says I'm a deep thinker-a genius designer who makes so many different kinds of surfers so happy by designing so many different types of boards that suit them each uniquely. My wife is rad! She works with me at our factory.
Matching the right board design to a vast sea of surfers with unique needs for their board, as well as tapping into their experience-the waves where they surf and progression in their surfing.
A complete custom approach to design. I listen to you and communicate with you to make you the board that is going to be best for you. We use only the best in premium materials. We also build boards out of high-grade composites and alternative, unique constructions that are stronger, livelier, more flexible, and are better for the Earth. I don't believe in engineered obsolescence. Every board is built from concept to completion at our factory in Ventura, California USA. Since we do everything in-house we also offer a two-week "fast track" on clear custom polys.
Be real about yourself and where you're at with your surfing. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Work with a shaper who takes the time to really care and listen to you. It's easy to tell when somebody really cares about making you a good board. Listen to that intuition regarding the character and skill of the shaper you choose to work with.
